Planning Ahead for Your Newborn Session

The best time to photograph your newborn is within the first two weeks after birth, when babies are naturally sleepier, curl comfortably into those beautiful womb-like poses, and their tiny details are still so wonderfully new.

To ensure availability around your due date, I recommend booking your session during your second trimester. We’ll reserve space in my calendar and finalise your session date once your little one arrives.

Your newborn session can take place in my home studio in Dandenong North, in Melbourne’s south east, or in the comfort of your own home (travel fees apply). Whether you prefer a beautifully styled studio session or the intimacy of your family’s own space, I’ll create a gallery that feels timeless, natural and uniquely yours.

Using a blend of beautiful natural light and professional studio lighting, every image is thoughtfully crafted with an editorial eye while preserving the genuine connection and emotion that make these first days so special.

Alongside your family portraits, I’ll carefully capture all the little details you’ll never want to forget, from tiny fingers and delicate eyelashes to wispy hair, button noses and curled-up toes.

Every session is completely baby-led, allowing plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, settling and nappy changes. There’s never any rush. Your baby’s comfort and safety always come first, creating a calm, relaxed experience for the whole family.

Whether your session takes place in my studio or your home, I’ll bring a carefully curated selection of wraps, blankets, outfits and styling pieces. I’ll gently guide you throughout the session, taking care of every detail so you can simply slow down and soak in these precious first moments.
